Grim Funeral – Abdication Under Funeral Dirge (Review)

Grim Funeral - Abdication Under Funeral Dirge

Grim Funeral was founded in Spain, back in 2003. Abdication Under Funeral Dirge is the second full length and brings us almost 80 minutes of Black Metal with influences of Depressive Black Metal, Suicidal Black Metal and hints of Doom. The vocals are a mixture of black metal vocals and occasional wailing vocals often heard in DSBM bands. Though every track features a good amount of variation and definitely displays talent, it somehow does not manage to hold onto your attention for the full playtime. The potential is there, but it’s not fully tapped into – or at least not yet.
